You can access Online Learning from the official Moodle App on an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Android tablet.
Before starting, you should already have a PBA Online Learning account. If you have not created one, see How to sign up for PBA Online Learning (Moodle).
Download the Moodle App #
Install the official Moodle app from your device’s app store:
- iPhone or iPad: Search for “Moodle” in the Apple App Store.
- Android: Search for “Moodle” in the Google Play Store.
Check that the app is published by Moodle Pty Ltd before installing it.
Connect to PBA Online Learning #
- Open the Moodle App.
- When asked for your site, enter: https://learn.pipebandsaustralia.com.au
- Select Connect to your site.
- Enter your PBA Online Learning username and password.
- Select Log in.
After signing in, your dashboard will show the courses in which you are enrolled.
Can’t see a course? #
Installing the app or creating an account does not automatically enrol you in a course.
If you can log in but cannot see the course you need:
- check whether the course allows self-enrolment; or
- email online.learning@pipebandsaustralia.com.au from the email address connected to your Moodle account.
Include your full name and the name of the course you need to access.
Using courses offline #
Some course material may be available to download for offline use.
To download available content:
- Open the course in the Moodle App.
- Look for the download or cloud icon.
- Download the required section or activity while connected to the internet.
Not every activity can be completed offline. Reconnect to the internet and allow the app to synchronise before assuming that submitted work or course progress has been saved.
Notifications #
The Moodle App may send notifications about course activity, messages and upcoming events.
If notifications are not appearing:
- Open the Moodle App’s notification settings.
- Check that the required notifications are enabled.
- Check your device settings and confirm that Moodle is allowed to send notifications.
The availability of particular notifications depends on the settings used by PBA Online Learning and each course.
Having trouble logging in? #
Check the following:
- Make sure the site address is exactly https://learn.pipebandsaustralia.com.au.
- Use the same username and password you use on the PBA Online Learning website.
- If you have forgotten your password, reset it through the website’s Lost password? option.
- Make sure your device is connected to the internet.
- Update the Moodle App through your device’s app store.
If the app reports that the site is unavailable or cannot be accessed through the app, contact online.learning@pipebandsaustralia.com.au and include the wording of the error message.
You can still use a web browser #
The Moodle App is optional. You can also open learn.pipebandsaustralia.com.au in Safari, Chrome or another browser on your device.
